A minor in Applied Computer Sciences can enhance the value of many degrees. Since computers play a pivotal role in our everyday lives, developing a deeper understanding of basic operating systems and computer architecture allows you to enhance your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Courses will allow you to understand the fundamentals of popular programming languages, while enhancing your logical reasoning and mathematical skills. You will also learn about operating systems, software development, algorithm development and more.
A minor in Applied Computer Sciences is especially beneficial for those majoring in mathematics, engineering physics, entrepreneurship and information technology.

- CSC 120 - Survey of Computing
- CSC 141 - Introduction to Java Programming
- CSC 150 - Computer Science I
- CSC 212 - Computer Architecture
- CSC 280 - Principles of Programming Languages
- One additional CSC elective numbered above 200 Hours: 3-4
- MAT 165 - Calculus I
- Choose one of the following:
- CSC 241 - Advanced Java Programming
- CSC 250 - Computer Science II
